Work History

PCB Layout Engineer

Freelancer
09.2023 - Current
  • I am designing Schematics and Layout in Altium Designer for PCB boards that are used to interface video cameras in the airline industry

Senior PCB Layout Engineer

Continental
08.2022 - 09.2023
  • PCB Layout for HDI PCB’s with 12-16 layers, using Zuken CAD Software
  • Routing various interfaces like: SPI,I2C,UART,CAN,LIN,ETHERNET,USB,PCI EXPRESS,eMMC,DDR4, and so on
  • Defining board outline, PCB stack-up and PCB design rules
  • Doing various simulations for high speed interfaces

Hardware Engineer

Draexlmaier
07.2021 - 07.2022
  • PCB Layout for Automotive Applications using Altium Designer
  • Altium Component Library Administration (Creating symbols, fooprints, reviews for the electronic components that are needed to be used in our projects)
  • Hardware testing
  • I have made a LIN RGB LED Driver Application PCB for Ambient Lightning, using MLX81108 chip from Melexis. I designed the main control board PCB and four LED Boards. The whole system is designed to light the back seats of the car

Hardware Engineer

Robert Bosch GmbH
09.2020 - 04.2021
  • Hardware Testing of Automotive PCB’s in the laboratory
  • Creating testbenches
  • Creating test reports for the PCB’s that I was testing

Power Management Internship

Microchip Technology
05.2019 - 02.2020
  • Design Switched Mode Power Supplies from schematic to layout using Microchip chips
  • Using Bode Plots to improve the frequency response of the circuits
  • Check if boards are working properly in the laboratory

Hardware Engineer

Summer Internship, Infineon Technologies
06.2018 - 09.2018
  • Documentation in: Pspice, VHDL-AMS, DC to DC converters (linear and switching power supplies)
  • Reverse Engineering on a Buck Converter - Average Model that is avaiable on the market
  • I traced the schematic of the circuit based on the Pspice libraries and, using my knowledge about Bode plots, I've done various test on the stability of the circuit
  • Library review and simulated ecuations and paramaters of a bipolar power transistor used as a Pass Transistor in a Low-dropout regulator
  • Create testbenches for a transciever using the SABER simulation program on a Unix platform

University Projects

  • Project I : Design the schematic of a linear voltage regulator with parallel adjustment element
  • Project II : Design a stepper motor controller using Atmega 16 and a LCD that displays in real time the direction of rotation of the motor(clockwise/anticlockwise) and the number of steps made by the motor. The number of steps are stored in a variable that is incremented/decremented depending on the direction of rotation of the motor. I used full step driving for the clockwise rotation and half step for the anticlockwise rotation of the motor.
  • Project III/ Licence (for now I've designed the first functional version of the circuit) : Obstacle avoiding robot using ultrasonic sensor and Wifi command through an Android Application. I used ESP8266 NodeMcu as a controller for the robot, L298N dual H Bridge motor driver, a servo motor used to rotate the ultrasonic sensor in different angles and 2 motors

Projects

- Designed various topoligies to drive speakers using LM386 Low Voltage Audio Power Amplifier

- Driving a CPU fan using NE555 chip. The motor speed is controlled through a pontentiometer that increases/decreases the duty cycle of the signal(PWM). I've extended this project adding Attiny85 microcontroller, a relay and a gas sensor. The microcontroller switches On/Off the fan through a relay according to the values read by the gas sensor. I use this project as a fume extractor for my soldering station

Awards

  • IPC Certificate of Competence in Schematic Design
  • Mention awarded to the student Pleșan Ștefan University of Pitești The Professional Student Contest Interconnection Techniques in Electronics, TIE 2022 31st Edition
